Young Israeli fashion design student from Shenkar College, Tal Maslavi, has offered a glimpse of his cake derby shoe design which has been making its rounds across the internet. Introduced as part of his Graduation collection, Maslavi modifies black leather derbys with missing chunks on the toe section, exposing convincing cuts of layer cake.
The shoes arrive with grooved rubber platform soles and look to be wearable, found in on-foot shots revealing tasty strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla iterations. The shoes were also seen on the runway at the Shenkar’s 2022 Graduation fashion show styled alongside other dessert-themed apparel.
So far it seems the shoes are still prototypes and official release details have yet to be revealed. Take a closer look at the images above.
